2016 Inductee

Keith O'Callaghan (34)

Keith O' Callaghan #34 Keith joined the Admirals in 2002 & for ten years was a integral part of the Admirals offense.  Keith led the team in rushing yards & touchdowns for many years, adding offensive player of the year 5 times & team MVP 3 times to his list of accomplishments.

During the 2007 & 2008 seasons, Keith & his backfield partner, Alain Pezeron, were an unstoppable duo combining for more first downs, yards & touchdowns than any other team in the league including an amazing 8 combined TD's in a record 98-0 win over the Tallaght Outlaws.  Keith had the ability to turn any play into a huge gain & whether it was a blast up the middle or an outside sweep if the defense didn't tackle him at the line of scrimmage, or allowed him to make one of his trademark cuts, then the closest any defensive player would get to him was watching him cross into the end zone.

As one of the fastest players in the IAFL, Keith routinely outran linebackers & cornerbacks the length of the field to score. Keith was hugely popular with his team mates & coaches & was a leader of the team on & off the field.

From a coaching perspective, very few players could match his knowledge of the game or his mastery of the offensive playbook. Over the years he took many younger players under his wing & was always very generous with his time & sharing knowledge with rookies.  Currently, Keith is involved in coaching with the Admirals & is helping to train the next generation of Cork running backs.

We are delighted to have the opportunity to introduce Keith O' Callaghan as the very deserving first inductee of the Cork Admirals Hall of Fame.
